Learn the basics of Teaming and Subcontracting, including some of the pitfalls of weak Teaming Agreements and poor Subcontracts. Each of these arrangements has advantages and disadvantages, and is applicable only at certain points in your solicitation strategy. Do you know where traps and pitfalls are? Do you know your rights and obligations? By reading and understanding the full requirements and terms of your contract, you can prevent post-contract aggravation.
Performing as a subcontractor under the prime contractor for a government customer can often be a great way to earn federal dollars. However, because federal dollars are being earned by your company you are still required to follow federal acquisition rules and regulations. Moreover, although oversight may be less intense, being a subcontractor comes with its own set of challenges. Not only are you working a B2B relationship with your prime and their terms and expectations, you are also indirectly working a B2G relationship and adding a complicated twist to your obligations.
This presentation will provide attendees an overview of the benefits derived from being a subcontractor, what pitfalls to avoid, and best practices to take with you in being a successful subcontractor. A 15-minute networking break to connect with the speaker and other government contractors is scheduled and encouraged.
