Joint Venture and Mentor-Protege Bidding Strategies (Aurora)

October 8 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Free

Subject Matter Experts (SME), Peter Ford and Meghan Leemon with PilieroMazza PLLC, will discuss the importance of having a well-shaped bidding strategy that includes joint venturing and participating in the SBA’s All Small Mentor-Protégé Program.

The topics covered are:
– SBA’s rules for joint ventures
– Advantages/disadvantages of joint venturing in the federal arena
– Eligibility requirements for the All Small Mentor-Protégé Program
– Benefits the program has to offer

The session will touch on looming changes to the joint venture rules and the All Small Mentor-Protégé Program, such as consolidating the 8(a) Mentor-Protégé Program with the All Small Mentor-Protégé Program, eliminating SBA approval of 8(a) joint ventures for competitive contracts, and relaxing the requirement that a protégé can have only two mentors in their lifetime.

A 30-minute networking break to connect with the speakers and other government contractors is scheduled and encouraged. Please pre-register for this workshop so you can be contacted for rescheduling or weather-related changes.
